Too big

I tried on my Emily last weekend and it is waaaay too big. I looked like a fluffy pig. I have to frog and knit it again. Maybe I can still use the sleeves, they looked quite normal, but the body was much too wide.

I think it will be boring to knit the same sweater again. But it is a beautiful pattern, I want to wear it.

My Woolsthorpe is going fine, I started the right front now. It was nice to make the pocket and quite simple. And I started my first pair of socks. A simple rib sock. I didn’t know if  I would like to knit socks, but I am enjoying myself. But the heel will be the most difficult part I guess, I’m not there yet. The wool is really beautiful, it is brown mixed with a lot of other colours: black, grey, blue, purple, but very subtle. It is called Araucania Ranco Multy. It would be nice for a vest too. I am using bamboo dpn’s and they are great to work with, very light.

first socks

If I like knitting socks, I am going to buy some more multicoloured sock yarns. I’ve seen some beautiful ones, handdyed. Mmmm…

So sorry to hear that you have to redo the body. I’m sure it will be worth it in the end.

Thank you Wen, I am sure it will be, it is such a great pattern, but I am not really looking forward to it.
